A live online workshop for mothers of children aged 1–4
Not Every Day a Battle!
From whining and defiance to full-blown tantrums: understand your child and respond calmly and firmly.
- Mon 9 & Wed 11 November
- 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm Cairo time
- Live online on Zoom
Is every day a battle?
- Getting dressed
- Mealtimes
- Turning off the phone
- Leaving the house
- Bedtime
Does it feel like “no” is the word you hear most from your child? One minute they're crying and screaming because you said no, the next they refuse to do anything you ask, and one small moment can turn the whole day into a fight.
As it keeps happening, you lose your temper, your voice gets louder, and then the guilt kicks in and you ask yourself: why has everything become so hard?
This workshop is for you if you…
- Hear “no” in nearly every situation.
- Face screaming and crying whenever you refuse a request.
- Feel that simple things like getting dressed, going out or turning off a screen become a fight.
- Feel torn between comforting your child and holding a clear limit.
- Shout under pressure, then feel guilty afterwards.
- Want a clear way to respond instead of conflicting advice from everyone.
What you'll learn
Eight parts, from understanding your child's behaviour to practising on real moments from your day.
-
Understand why your child does this
Why they say “no” and scream, and how to tell a meltdown that needs comfort from behaviour that needs a firm limit.
-
Prevent tantrums before they start
Seven practical tools, including steady routines, preparing for transitions, offering choices, and asking in a way that invites cooperation.
-
Know what to do during a tantrum
Clear steps for the screaming and crying: when to move closer, when to give space, and how to help your child calm down.
-
Handle defiance and whining without fights
When to hold a limit and when to offer a choice, and how to stop whining from becoming the way your child changes your mind.
-
Understand what makes you lose your temper
Notice your own anger signals, the thoughts and situations that raise your stress, and practical steps to calm yourself before things escalate.
-
Raise a confident child who respects limits
Support their independence and hear their opinion without giving up your limits, so they learn they can speak up and still follow the rules.
-
Deal with pressure from people around you
From dad and grandma to relatives and comments in the street: explain your parenting approach and hold your limits calmly.
-
Apply it to real situations from your day
We'll discuss mothers' real questions and apply the tools to daily challenges like screen time, hitting and sibling jealousy, as time allows.

Parenting isn't an instinct we get right on our own. It's a skill we learn and grow every day.
I'm Shereen Gendy, an ICF-certified parenting coach, behaviour modification specialist, and Positive Discipline trainer certified by the Positive Discipline Association. For more than six years I've worked with mothers and families on everyday parenting challenges.
I'm also a mother of two, so I know parenting isn't always easy, and that whining, defiance and tantrums can drain us. I believe parenting isn't an instinct we get right on our own. It's a skill we learn and grow every day.
My goal is to help children grow up confident, able to express their feelings and needs, with self-discipline that doesn't come from fear of punishment. That starts early: clear limits, and teaching instead of shouting and punishing.
